tach doesn't work!

i've checked a few other threads and haven't found anything yet. My car was down for about 2 or 3 months and when we went to start it up the tach wasn't reading at all. The voltage, oil pressure and fuel level are all working still though.
Any ideas?

The tach runs off the trailing coil. Check the connections, try to spray it with cleaner and make sure its securaly grounded (it grounds throught the bolts). The trailing coil is right next to the drivers side shock tower.

Ya a lil sand paper on the contacts won't hurt either.. Where it screws in on the circuit board
