T2 Starting Issue...Help???
First off I have a 88TII that was sitting for a few years. I dropped in a newer motor that I was told had low miles on it. I did all of the emmisson removal (block off plates) and the throttle body mod. I changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and lines, had the injectors cleaned and tested, and put in new spark plugs. I pulled the fuel pump and the tank and pump look clean (no corrosion or dirt in the tank. The motor cranks fine and the car starts after a few cranks. The rpm's jump up to about 3K and it runs for about 5 to 8 seconds and the motor starts to die out and then stops. It will restart but it will do the same thing over and over. If I touch the gas pedal to try to keep it going, it dies right away. The fuel lines seem to be under pressure when I pull them off to check for gas. Also the motor sounds OK when it is running for that brief period of time. Ive checked the vaccume lines and they appear to be ok. Any Ideas? Thanks!!
