Same thing happened to me. For some reason when I locked it would open. Try this and report back to me since this worked after two weeks of no passenger door. Use your car key to open the lock.

If you hold open the door handle and close it then let off, the door will lock.

On my FD the rubber strips around both doors were bad and my door panels were loose which got caught on the door sill (guy who owned it before messed up all of the clips).
I was late for work and it wouldnt open and there was no way to get in, so i Chuck Norris-ed the door open and it ripped my door panel almost completely off... lol
maybe your door latch is stuck or the internals are worn out? idk

I have the exact same thing going on with my door. Stupid rubber seal is coming off and causing it to get stuck and the damn door panel is sagging. Stupid previous owners. Lol.

So, I'm not the only one? ...and they're not exactly cheap either. I think the door panel itself gets warped over time, so I'm thinking about making a mold of the panel and making some custom fiberglass door panels... maybe wrapping them to match with my color scheme =] I wonder how much work that will be....

you may have some bent rods inside there. get a diagram of the door's innards. wind the window all the way down and go to town a long enough screwdriver. it might take some time, but it you should be able to get it open.

EDIT: just saw that the original post is about a month old.

if you want cheap and easily made panels look at my pics of my fb I made them with sheet metal ($20) and 3/16 rivets ($5) and they end up looking good

those are sick! they're a lil too "track car" for me tho. plus my controls for my windows, locks, handle, and mirrors would have no spot... i might actually make some fiberglass molds soon... and coat the insides with dynamat!!

UPDATE: Back to the original post- I just embarassed myself hard after takin a girl out for a fun lil canyon run the other day.... My passenger side door wouldnt unlock or open when she was tryin to get out. she thought i was messing with her lol... then the shame set in when she had to climb out of the driver side. FD3S FAIL
