stripped fan nut

hey guys i know there is already a thread on this but im a noob and cant post replies n stuff untill i get points or whatever...infact would some1 be able to explain how that **** works? neway ive got a stripped nut on my s4 fan. there is **** all room to work with...any suggestions on a good way to remove it?

Usually, these nuts aren't that tight. You can unbolt the radiator and shroud, then slip them up and out of the car in one piece. Then clamp some Vice Grips on the nut.

yea i have taken the shroud off...there is just one nut left on the satndrd fan i cant get off..there isnt much room to wrk as the nuts are on the back side of the fan..any ideas on how to remove it?

Remove the bolts holding the assembly to the water pump pulley and then take it over to the bench.

I DID IT I DID IT!! lol, i channeled magiver and used the bracket that holds the battery in place (put one bolt through the hole in bottom of bracket and used the L shape piece to sit over the alt pulley wheel to hold the fan pulley wheel) then WD40'd the **** outta the nut and took a hammer and chissle to it to turn it enough to unscrew it by hand.
ohh i did this just after i pulled up at home so everything was still warm in the engine bay which possible helped (heat = metal expanding etc etc..)
