Stock mount or front mount.
I just got my rx7 and I keep hearing the first thing to do is get a new intercooler. I am not to crazy mechanical so I am wondering should I get a front mount or something like the greddy stock mount. The car is complete 99 spec and I dont wanna destroy the front bumper and have not researched battery relocate. Please any advice would be great. Also the car is street ported and I need to find a good not crazy expensive fuel management system any suggestions?
Running a street ported engine alone requires fuel management. Check your ECU to see if it's a Power FC, if it is then you just need a Commander to adjust.
If not, adding the IC either stock upgrade or front mount will adjust your fuel settings. In the end it would end up damaging the engine with the extra air being compressed in and the fuel system still putting out what it can only do. The offset would hurt your engine.
You don't have to relocate your battery if upgrading to a front mount, it's considered easier to have more room to work with. But there are small type batteries like Odyssey's that fit really nice and keep room to a minimum area.

My 2 cents: FMIC complicate things on a street or track car because it steals cold air from the radiator. It also requires you to extend the intercooler piping and modify your front bumper. (I like 99 spec a lot and personally that's a deal breaker).
Stock mounts work very well for moderate amounts of boost and power. Rather than going front mount I would install auxiliary injection because it provides the superior charge cooling performance of a front mount but with many more benefits.
