Stalling out

Stalling out

Hey everyone i recently got my rx7 running but for some reason it stalls out whenever i go below 2000 rpms at idle or in gear not really sure why any help would be appreciated its an 82 gsl

Check all your vacuum lines to the carb. I had a similar issue with my 84, turned out to just be a line on the bottom of the intake. Didnt figure that out till I dumped a bunch of money into it hahaha. Silly teenagers lol.

I am pretty sure that one of my hoses leading to the airfilter has a ok sized hole in it but i was yold it wasnt a problem but i will see about getting a new one and yea im a teenager too havent really had a project car before but im glad i got one im learning a lot just from working on it

Quick test to see if that is where she is sucking air from is to spray starter fluid or something similar near the hole and see if the idle jumps. If it jumps, that is a leak in the intake tract.

Nothing wrong with learning my friend. We all had to do it at some point in our lives. Good luck and may it be a cheap fix for you.

A large vacuum leak can cause a high idle and can cause stalling at low engine rpm. I would check not only the vacuum lines but the hoses on the intake manifold and air control valve.
