Unhappy car still no idle *sigh*

Ok, well for those of you who remember I posted a few weeks ago that my when I start my car, itll start fine, then when it drops down to idle it will just stall. It rough rough when I give it gas to get to higher RPMs. I have come to the conclusion that it has to be a vacuum leak somwhere, so I took my intake back off again (4th time..I can get it off and back on within 1 hr now), and check all vacuum hoses that I come across. They all seemed fine, no cracks, and are not hard or brittle. I also cleaned out the EGR, which was so clogged with black carbon buildup IM sure it wasnt working. But when I put it back together I still have the same problem. Gaddamnit. When I rev the car past like 2k, there is a very loud high-pitched wistle coming from the engine bay somewhere, but I cant pinpoint where. I think this verifies that It is a vacuum problem, cuz if it shuts off below 2k, and theres a whistle above 2k, obviosly air somewhere isnt going where it is supposed to. I have no clue what the problem is now, and Im getting very frustrated. I am going to the junkyard today to get a new BAC valve, because I am all out of ideas, and since that controls idle, maybe thats whats wrong. If you have any clue to as what could be wrong, please help. Thanks

Have you tried using brake cleaner to find the leak? Have someone hold the the gas peddle at one position so it will hold an idle, then spray everywhere. Vacuum lines are not the only culprit.

I had a bad leak at one of my injector to intake seals. When I would spray brake cleaner (flammable brake cleaner) where the injectors are my idle would smooth our and it would idle.

Spray at all intake connections. Also if you do take the intake off again, put duct tape over the ports of the lower intake, and add compressed air to one of the vacuum lines that go directly to the intake. Next get a spray bottle of some sort and fill it with soapy water. Add compressed air and spray everywhere and watch for bubbles. The duct tape will not hold perfectly but it will get the job done.

Good Luck

Did the leak at the injector to intake make the car not idle at all, or just run rough?? Ill try the brake cleaner thing, see if I find anything. Any other ideas??

Do you have any loss of power? Does it does it whistle when you are idling, driving, or reving it?

It did not idle all the time, sometimes when it was completely warmed up it would idle erraticly, but would eventually stall. Also idled rough.

Make sure you get flammable brake cleaner.

Good Luck

You know that thread you put a link to...

13BAce is wrong to assume you can remove that throttle stop.&nbsp It's there for the dashpot, which prevents abrupt closing of the throttle.&nbsp You really need to keep that there, or there's chances the engine could kill itself when releasing the gas pedal, especially under heavy throttle.

That IS my Throttle Body Mods pic you're using.
