smog pump/air pump
I have a 90 convertible and i was wondering if there was any other purpose to the air pump besides putting fresh air in the exhaust for emissions. I have a straight pipe so can I delete the air pump or will it make my car run funny

The air pump supplies air to the exhaust ports, exhaust manifold and cats depending on driving condition.
It also supplies air to actuate your aux port actuators and VDI.
Don't just remove the pump or all kinds of bad will happen.
