Should I try to start the engine?

I bought an FD that was at a wrecking company, front end was smashed. I don't know how long its been sitting there, it could have been a couple of weeks, or it could have been 3 years. Should I try starting it, or would I risk damaging something if it's been sitting for too long?

Start by changing coolant and oil and gas.
