If that price is USD, it seems a bit low for this car. If you don't do anything else, have a rotary mechanic do a proper compression test.

Please ask the seller how he installed the NEW GREDDY EXTREME TIMING BELT. I am just dying to find out what he says, lol.

Also, it sounds like a dipshit American GI owns the car. A German should know what "mint condition" really means.

Anyway, check it out and post back on this forum. If everything looks OK then I think it would make a nice car to drive while you are in Germany as long as the weather is nice. I rather doubt the seller's claims that you could easily bring the car to the US. I knew a buy who imported Euro-spec cars into the US, and it cost a freaking fortune and took months to get the mechanicals and paperwork in order for his customers.

Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the advice, I truly appreciate it. I was hoping the claim for the timing belt was a quick mistake for maybe the flux capacitor perhaps. He is moving 2 hours closer on tuesday so I'll think i will wait until then. If it hasn't sold by then. I don't see a car like that staying around for too long. Thanks!

Yikes! I would not want to put gas in that thing in Europe--it WILL put you in the poor house if it is a DD.

So, just to keep everyone posted, I made the 3.5 hour drive yesterday to test drive the car and everything was fine. The guy knew what he was talking about when it came to rotary engines. I was quite impressed. Everything that could possibly go wrong on these cars has already been replaced. It was so fast driving it and got better gas mileage than my RX8. We took it for a 2 hour test drive and not a problem in the world. It does have it's cosmetic problems especially on the interior, so the claim about it being mint was false. But I can't complain. No leaks at all, anywhere and no boost leaks either. I made sure to drive it hard, it really turned heads everywhere i went. So, I'll be picking it up on tuesday and be the proud owner of an FD!

LOL. Well he had pointed out everything he had replaced and it was extensive. He imports cars to Germany from Japan, gets them fixed up at low miles and sells them. For a profit yes, but to everyone else still well below KBB or any other worth of the car. I was impressed with what he was saying and what he knew about the rotary engines. The post on website about the timing belt was a mistake. The belts were replaced along with just about everything else. The exterior was almost perfect minus a few rock dings and things that are simply unavoidable on a 17 year old car. This car will need some ICE work for sure! but nothing that will take too much time or money. Thanks for all the help guys! I'll post pics and vids of the car.
