Fiberglass body kits

I have a 1983 GSL LE, that I am about to drop off to a body shop to have the rear quarter panels replaced. I live in the upper midwest, rust is a problem, and the replacements came out of Louisiana (not Katrina affected).

The replacement panels look good but the midwest is the midwest, and it is no guarantee that rust will not again raise it's ugly head. Black Dragon Auto parts offers a body kit that is composed of fiber glass panels. It changes the aerodynamics of the car and makes it appear a bit sportier. I actually like the simple rocket shape of the traditional body; but I am wondering if the fiber glass would provide better rust protection, and bring down the cost of the body work.

Any thoughts out there? any experience with the Black Dragon body kit?
Love my RX7 and look forward to returning the gal to her former glory with a face lift and a boob job.

thanks
BTR

for those who are interested. I went a more traditional route and shipped in rear Quarter panels from a wreck in texas. looks good but will need a complete paint job one of these years. years of repairing this and replacing that has left it with a bit of a two tone...

The fiber glass kit will be cheaper overall, but be sure you get a good kit that has this new flex technology (body kits only, i havent seen them for panels yet), a lot of them also come with kevlar woven in for strength, but, if you dont get the better kits, the cold weather/snow and what not will end up making the fiberglass brittle later on (or early if they are cheap). These will get rid of the rust issues, i suggest if you are not already good with fiberglass and dont want to pay for a tech to repair any damage, study up on it, its relatively cheap to do yourself and not very hard at all.
