S4 N/A EGR Valve
I just recently removed my EGR valve, from this car I bought pretty recently. The emissions job was done very haggardly, and I am going through and removing everything the right way. When i removed the valve I was greeted with a large amount of what looked like carbon buildup. The valve was filled with buildup along with where it goes into the block. The cars idle misfires alot, and it still smokes what i believe to be oil. Does this egr valve being clogged possibly have any other symptoms or caused any other problems i need to look out for. I do not plan on replacing it I am simply blocking it off but want to know what else i need to look out for that a clogged egr valve might have caused.

An EGR valve isn't even necessary on a rotary. Case and point the S5 engines, which have no EGR. Mazda was required to add one, but it serves almost no purpose. High NOx due to running too lean is the least of our worries. The stock ECUs are all setup to run extra rich under all conditions.
