RX7 Troubles

I have an 88 rx7 convertible i bought it and it would barely start so i changed the terminals spark plugs and wires and put a new battery in it... then it started running hot so i changed the thermostat and it ran fine again then a week later it started running hot again and blowing water out of the overflow so i clamped the overflow and it ran fine i took the belts loose from the water pump and the water pump was bad so i replaced it and the day after i replaced it... it blew a hole out somewhere on the motor and all the antifreeze drained out so i pulled the motor and it spins freely but when i turn it over it sounds bad it makes metal grinding noises i havnt torn into it yet but what should i be looking to replace is it worth rebuilding and i was wondering about porting everything while i have it apart...but i have never messed with rotory motors before anything i should kno? i also have a 90 convertible that has good compression and its getting fuel its a really clean motor i bought it from a friend because they were tired of messing with it we got it to start once and it reved up high and then bogged down like it ran out of gas and that was the last thing i ever did with it i bought it for cheap with an extra tranny and rearend another dash radiator and dor and steering wheel i looked at it when mine blew up and a couple intake lines were broke what r some thing i should do to get it running?

Sounds like you have some interesting motors. The first one sounds like its rebuild time. The second I am not too sure, but 'ran like its out of gas' doesn't sound promising.

One good thing you may want to do if a rebuild is in order is to locate the FSM (www.rx7city.com) and purchase a rotary rebuild video from either mazdatrix, atkins, rotary aviation, or 13BDIY.
