Rx7 surging idle issue, any ideas? Video included!

Hey all, I’m new to rotarys and this forum. I recently purchased this rx7 and I’m trying to get it road worthy enough to drive to a VIN inspection on the 1st about 5 minutes away. I would like to say I’m pretty good when it comes to diagnosing traditional cars, but these rotarys are a whole new game. I’ve been trying to fix this surging idle for a couple weeks now, and I can’t figure it out. I’ve checked tps voltages and they seem to be correct. I haven’t found any obvious vacuum leaks. I put premixed gas in the tank. Does anyone have any experience with this issue or any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do a smoke test for vacuum leak. Check MAP sensor. Sounds like the ECU is searching for pressure/vacuum feedback level it likes.

It may, or may not, search like that for a while, then decide on a default setting, which may, or may not, result in a smooth idle.

i always do a standard procedure of checking the idle air screw setting, make sure the thermowax is fully backed off and then adjust the TPS, unless there's a vacuum leak this always fixes the idle surge.
