crap idle sometimes *video*

my idle is weird. sometimes i can go days without idle acting weird, but then it starts again. when it does do it the usual is from 1000 rpm to 500 or just a straight stall after a while. could it be just clogged BAC valve?

My idle does the same exact thing, just doesnt move around as much as yours does at the start of the video. Ive set my tps, gone through 3 vac leaks, re adjust idle and still cant get it perfect. Ive come to live with it for the time being.

had the tps set previously by dealer. wouldnt a vac leak cause it to do that all the time? that was my thinking on vac leak.

pressurize the motor. i thought i fixed every vacuum leak in my motor many of times. but until you pressureize it and check for leaks, its insanely hard to get them all. MAF systems such as our cars are, are extremely sensitive to vacuum leaks.

theres also many other things that cause this. the TPS in most cases, and just about every adjustment on the throttlebody that can be made. theres write ups on here how to adjust about every part. you just have to do some searching to find them...

thermo wax is responsible for the cold start (as ive gathered from reading about it), its possible it could have failed (anything is possible) as ive got a friend who has the exact same issue even tho we adjusted idle and what not.

if im wrong lemme know

"The second idle system on the TB is the fast idle mechanism, which includes the thermo wax device and a fast idle cam, both located on the rear-facing side of the throttle body. When the car's coolant is cold, the fast idle cam holds the butterfly valves in the TB slightly open, raising idle. As the coolant warms and expands the thermo wax, a rod pushes the fast idle cam, gradually lowering idle from 1500 to 750, as the graph on the right depicts. This is why adjusting idle when the car fully warmed is important."
