rx7 s5 na wont idle

I have a 1990 rx7 gxl
Recently I had a friend hook up some jumper cables backwards and i couldn't get it to start. I replaced the main fuses and got it to crank but now it doesn't want to idle. The idle wasn't smooth to begin with but it was better than not at all.

I've searched the forums and read up on a lot. But other threads the people had the problem fixed for after fuses.

More info about the car.
Stock aside from k&n cone filter and 3inch straight pipe from the manifold to a greddy muffler.

I'm thinking it may be the tps probably got out of wack when jumped improperly. Is that possible? Any other suggestions?

This could be a very bad thing. Hooking up the cables backwards could cause the cells on both batteries to drain, you could fry both computers, the battery cables could be messed up, the chips could get fried before your fuses even kick in, plus it could explode.

It is possible for it to be the tps sensor, honestly it could be anything electric. A lot of different things go wrong when you jump a car wrong, so it could be anything.

I appreciate the reply.
After a few days of trial I managed to get it running. I also managed to get a better idle out of it by unplugging the tps and cleaning the connector then plugging it back in.

Very nice. Be careful about doing that, it could cause some serious damage to you engine. If you need to clean the tps again, I would recommend CRC MAF cleaner, you can use it for just about anything and works great
