Rev limit question

Ok, every once and awhile I'll have a little fun and try and get to redline, but my revs don't go past about 7k under load, but will when in neutral. I haven't checked the timing but I put in new plugs and wires. Is that rev limit there for a reason or could something be off? It's a 90 vert btw.

An S5 NA shouldn't hit the rev limiter until something like 9k RPM. Redline is 8k RPM, and you should have no trouble reaching it.

A potential issue that could cause it to lose power up top is reduced flow from an injector or two, which would cause a lean hesitation. Or someone could have an aftermarket coil setup with a rev limiter.

Well, it's not an aftermarket coil setup, I know that for sure. It's fine putting some injector cleaner fluids in a rotory, right? I'll try doing that and see if it makes a difference. If that doesn't help, I'll make sure the timing is fine just to be sure.

Now it's only going to about 6250 rpm. WTF?
