Removing 85 License Plate bracket

I just bought an 85 SE and the front license plate bracket is bent to hell. I just want to remove it for now and try running without a front license plate but I can't figure out how to remove it. Looks like it's welded or something. Anybody know how to remove the darn thing?

Also, the "Mazda' name on the center steering wheel horn button is facing up and down, does it just pull off? Don't want to force anything.

Thanks!

John

1. license plate frame is bolted on. if yours is indeed welded, then someone besides the dealer did it.

2. it's been a while for me, but if I recall, you can just turn it. worst case scenario would be to pull the horn fuse and then remove the cover.
