Recent electrical and starting problems with my gen 2

So everything has been fine with my car starting and electrical since i put a yellow top and new starter in. (i have a 88 turboII btw)

so i am driving home the other night and about to pass someone and my dashlights flicker then i start losing power i hit the brakes and my radio goes out and the car dies. i get my dad to come to get me with his truck and trailer. I get home and replace a blown 20 amp fuse starts right up and everything seems good. I give it a test drive pull back in and it dies, i check the fuse, its good. hmmm

so i jump the car and it starts no problem everything seems to work fine. As soon as i remove the cables it dies so i figure its the alternator. I start checking wires and find out that the power conncetor is broken. So strip it and rewire it and replace the alternator anyways, cause whoever had this car before me had rigged up some alternator off something else. Anyways i replace the alt and wires and jump the car again, remove the cables and it stays running on its own. problem solved! NO. Its fine for a bit no problems with anything. Then i got to drive it.

Everytime i hit the brakes the dash lights dim(not headlights) and the radio shuts off. Sometimes the whole car dies.(except the headlights they never die.)

very frustrated and would appreciate any ideas.

thx tap

just for the heck of it.
Check your brake lights..the bulbs.
Sometimes you can blow a dual filament bulb and the filament will sit on the other side of the bulb and cause havock.like a short..It's good until you press the brakes.
