RE-EGI sensor identification. Too Much fuel.

I have been searching all over the forums for 2 days, and can't find what I need. Also, I have the Haynes manual and it has nothing in it concerning the fuel injection system. What I need to identify is the sensor in the picture below, and find out what it does.. because mine is definately broken.

This is a 1985 GSL-SE and it has not ran for 4 years I was told. The engine cranks, but it sounds kind of whiny.. perhaps low compression. I bought it from a high school autoshop and they had already filled the thing full of ATF and whatnot.

The main problem I have noticed is that there is a plethora of fuel dumping into the engine. After cranking for 5-10 seconds, I can remove the spark plugs and they are soaked with fuel, and fuel actually pours out of the bottom spark plug holes.

What picture?

ATF isn't the proper way to store an engine and can be damaging in the long term.

However if the enigne is flooding out, it will crank quickly and show little compression. You probably need to unflood it by putting some oil into each leading spark plug hole and cranking until all of the excess fuel is gone. Disable the EFI system by pulling the EGI fuse when doing this. It may take several attempts to stop the fuel cloud from shooting out of the plug holes.

Now test for spark. With a fresh set of plugs, push start the car with another vehicle.

Sorry.. I actually hit the enter key too soon, so that was a partial post. Hopefully, my real post will come on in a little while. I appreciate the help though. I wanted to delete this thread because it wasn't complete.
