Rare RX-7? "

Are bright yellow and bright green RX-7 SA/FB's really rare or something? Because I never seem to come across any in real life or on the internet. The only times I've seen these colors is on old advertisements for the car. Also there seems to be pictures of a yellow plaid interior option, what's up with that?

The first year RX-7 was available in taxicab yellow with yellow paid seat inserts.
AFAIK, the lime green was not offered in the USA, it was offered in Japan and likely in Europe.
In 1980 there was a very small batch of cars on non-stock colors like light tan that were distributor samples and it was decided to retail them, those are rare!

No, they were std cars from the west area distributor and they were one off color samples. I remember the light tan/biege color because it looked so striking but there were perhaps a half dozen other colors, ones that weren't offered at the time. IIRC, the interiors were stock colors that worked with the sample color.

spark yellow isn't all that uncommon in the US AFAIK. but i've never seen a pastel or lime green FB/SA before, that was an old school color more common to the deuces.
