hey!

super quick question, while at a red light my idle slowly climbed to 2500 and sat there for the rest of the drive ( it wasn’t a very long one ). i have previously had issues with the vehicle randomly surging in idle, going from 1000rpm to 1200rpm and back down repeatedly. i always assumed it to be the idle air control valve and, as a test, when i unplugged the idle air control valve while it was idling at 3000rpm off a cold start today after allowing it to idle for a bit it returned to 800rpm and idled fine, as soon as i plugged the connector of the IAC valve back in it returned instantly to 3000rpm.

is my IAC faulty? i’m sure it is, but i’m new to the car and would like to be sure before i get one.
