Racing Seats for 1st Gen

I've got an 85 GSE-SL that I'd like to make into a track rat, with cage, and all the rest. Anyone have recommendations for racing seats that you like? I'd prefer something comfortable for 6 ft 220 # driver (me). Thanks.

Kirkey is a favorite of the NASCAR crowd and they got some big guys in that race series...I'll drag a racer from the South Forums who's SCCA to have him weigh in with an opinion...

For racing seats it is important not to cheap out. Racing means a lot more force and likely hood of accidents... this means you want to avoid the cheapo Ebay AAR style seats.

For someone your size (and am near the same size) I have used recaros before. Both adjustable and fixed (one piece). I recommend one piece carbon fiber racing seats (I like the Recaro Pole Position and I am 6'2" and 230 lbs) just from a weight point if you can afford them, but they are a pain in the *** on a street driven vehicle.

I have also used the Sparco Rev 5 Plus, but the seat bottom is a little narrow for my older butt, but they are rather cheap (usually less than $700) which is a deal for a true racing seat.

I have used Ultrashield seats and like the Kirkey they fit great in the FB. I really like the halo seat, adds a measure of safety in a side impact.

Here are some images as to what the seat looks like in the car, and the seat mounting.

NICE! I hope to be at that point in my mod by next season. Thanks!
