CO Questions about rotating assembly balance

I have a few newbie questions about the rotating assembly.

First, what exactly makes up the rotating assembly? Is it rotors, front counterweight, rear counterweight, and e-shaft?

Second, if my engine ate a rotor (apex seal imploded taking the rotor with it), do I need to rebalance the rotating assembly if I get a new rotor of the same weight? What about if I get a new rotor of a different weight (within a weight letter, e.g. A or C, since my other rotor is a B weight)?

Thanks!
Wil

I think it really depends on who you're talking to and what it is you're trying to accomplish. it is commonly considered to be the parts you mentioned. however, I have seen some cases where people were balancing their assemblies and they sent in EVERYTHING from the front pulley to the clutch. so

the short answer to do you re-balance is no. that's pretty much the point of coding the rotors. they will be balanced if they are within two letters of each other.

Hey......you're in Colorado we should have a meet or something..Anyways the rotating assembly primarily consists of those three major items; Eccentric shaft, rotors and counterweights.

If let's say the apex seal did shatter I believe I would be more concerned about your rotor housings as they're subject to easier damage.

Before you assume the worst you might want to tear the block apart and inspect you goodies.

I am in the process (Money impedes the process haha) of rebuilding good TII block and a N/A block at the time for my 2 rx-7's in Boulder.
