Question about PROBES (Egt/O2)
My car came with a wideband 02 sensor, and has some funny numbers while idleing.. ill try to pull some logs to get an exact output. But my question is, my car came with dual pre-turbo exhaust gas temperature (EGT) probes. Is it common for these to throw the check engine light? It was known to be needed to be replaced, would it throw out funny numbers on the digital display? And any brands/sources/people to deal with for getting them that you guys recommend? Thanks!

And you car is....what? Always post vehicle info. Otherwise your threads will probably be overlooked.
I can tell you right now that no RX-7 has factory EGT sensors or widebands, so your check engine light problem is unrelated. If you post vehicle info, I can direct you to check checking information.

Haha oops lol, its an fd. I meant to ask is it common for the O2 sensor to trigger the check engine light in these cars more than others? I read that somewhere a long time ago but im not sure where. It doesnt let me search threads with just two characters making searching difficult.

Check Engine Light Codes
If you haven't already, pull codes to see what's setting the CEL off. A narrowband sensor is virtually the same in any car, and it's a cheap part to replace.
If you have a wideband gauge/sensor, that will likely be separate from your stock narrowband. The exception is some wideband controllers have a narrowband output wire that can be connected instead of the original sensor. If that's the case, then you would replace the wideband sensor if it is no longer working.
What wideband is it, and what numbers are you seeing? If emissions are removed, you should see approx. 12-13 AFR at idle.
