Putting trans together

i took apart my transmission to fix it being jammed and now the rod that come from the shifter i dont know how to fit back into the shift forks or whatever ya call em ha..

anyone know a trick?

Move the rod toward the left before you put the tail piece on , when it goes into place, rotate back to the rght and it will engage the shift rod ends.

Check spring tension

You may need to reposition the spring arm to achieve the factory tension. I use a 9mm 1/4" deep socket with extension to reposition the spring arm to the factory position. The first pic is the spring before repositioning. Last pic is spring in the factory position.

13 yr old thread. OP hasn't been on here since 2012. probably sold the car by now and doesn't care anymore.
