prob. oil metering pump

have a 91 non turbo any ways the oil metering pump is not always oiling 2 rotor causing car to go in limp mode. mazda told me pump would be $2100 wanted to know if there is any else i can do. the car only has 65k miles and motor comp. tested good

Ditch the pump and premix it like a 2 stroke. Go to the second gen archive section there is a whole thread on it.

Horrible advice, without a properly working pump hooked up to the harness it will go into limp mode. You will have to buy a working OMP to solve this problem. Now you can block it off from the engine and premix but you NEED to have it hooked up to the harness.
