premix question
i have a question out premix, i know when you remove the oil metering system from the fc you have to go with premix, my question is because im not quite sure of where the premix goes in due to some info that doesnt seem right but does the premix go into the engine and take the place of regular oil or does it go in the gas tank?

you mix one ounce of 2 stroke oil to one gallon of gas..(that is about the "norm")
that is "premix".
So ya,it obviously goes into the gas tank.Gas is now acting as a lubrication venue so the old Oil metering system is not needed.

Your kidding....right? Pre-mixing 2 cycle oil with the gas in a rotary does NOT replace the oil needed in the oil pan/crank case.
If you don't understand this, do yourself and your car a favor and have it professionally serviced. Don't jack with it.

just to beat the dead horse with a stick . just to make extra sure .
you use premix(2stroke oil) AND motoroil motor oil goes into the engine / oil pan . ( do not use motor oil as premix )
and premix goes into the gas tank when you fill up . its better to add the premix in first then the gas so try and know what you will be pouring into the car the reason for this , as I've been told is so that when you pour in the gas it mixes the premix .
if the car has already had its Oil metering pump removed. Then great .you MUST run premix .
if you are thinking about removing it yourself.. I suggest you search and READ and Read some more . we dont need another my engine went boom thread

SOME owners remove the OMP and simply pre-mix 2 cycle oil in with the gas. This works the same and has the advantage of injecting cleaner oil and oil (2 cycle) that's desgined to burn more completely than crankcase oil. BUT YOU STILL NEED OIL IN THE CRANKCASE for those other engine internals.
Other owners keep the OMP, some modify the OMP to source 2 cycle oil instead of oil from the crankcase and still others, like myself, retain the OMP in stock form AND premix at a reduced rate. Point is, there are different schools of thought on it. When you have a better understanding of the rotary, search and make your own decision on what's best.
Ok cool. Thanks for explaining it. This rx is my first car so I'm still figuring it out I still have to do more research on how the timing works too.
I've always hear it should consume oil but that's where it stopped and I never knew why. Till now

We can say cursed for now. I grabbed a bad rx and almost all the electrical sensors are broken so idk if its just like that or what is broken and has to be fixed. Either way ik what to get and look for, for my next one.
Maybe not a daily, but I have a street driven car. Stock boost levels PFC and bolt-ons.
I premix (~ .5 oz. @ gal.) with a working stock OMP. Reasons:
*OMP is not ideal on it's own for reasons mentioned above.
*Pre-mix is inadequate on it's own...since injector duty goes to zero on on long periods of decel and from high rpm.
*I added a simple WI system which, among other benefits, manages the increased risk of carbon issues over time from running both systems.
*A few years ago I spent alot of cash on brand new housings.

getting rid of the OMP just simplifies things. and guarantees your engine is being properly oiled vs waiting for the stock unit to fail. thats about it . as far as any advantages? idk.
your car will smell like a boat ive heard that drives the ladies wild....

I just purchased an 84 gsl-se with metric buttloads of miles, and premix just because at this point.
And its winter here, so im not getting in to what is working or isnt, just a precaution.
I do have a question here though, would I be better served running injector cleaner without a premix of 2 cycle? Or is it pretty much irrelevant.
