is this possible?
to get fortune veilside bodykit (the rx7 in tokyo drift) installed in a 2nd gen rx7?
here are specs i found about 2 cars
2nd gen rx7
Wheelbase 95.7 in (2431 mm)
Length 1986-88: 168.9 in (4290 mm)
1989-1991: 169.9 in (4315 mm)
Width 66.5 in (1689 mm)
Height 49.8 in (1265 mm)
Curb weight 2,625 lb (1,191 kg) - 3,071 lb (1,393 kg
3rd gen rx7
Wheelbase 95.5 in (2426 mm)
Length 168.5 in (4280 mm)
Width 68.9 in (1750 mm)
Height 48.4 in (1229 mm)
Curb weight 1,282 kilograms (2,830 lb)
might have to make few adjustments

Um, you are aware that while the cars are of similar dimensions, the body structure of both is totally different, right? The lines of the the bodies share no common points so considerable custom fitting will be required far beyond what this kit normally requires (which is significant...a semi-local owner is doing this kit on a 3rd gen and has a ridiculous money into it...just getting the kit was something like $15,000).
And in the end you have a car that looks like a poorly mutated Batmobile.

but people have turned there VW's into Ferrari's so was wondering if you can do same with 2nd gen.

I love it too !!!
But i dont think that the curve on the 2ng get would allow for a nice smooth fit . but i am sure with a lot of cutting sanding and fabricating it is possible. why not buy a 3rd gen and fix it ??might save money in the end

but its hard to find a good low KM millage.
cheapest 3rd gen i saw was at 20k
most cars are around 25k-30k
so 20k price tag is low probably due to some issues.
2nd gen costs around 7-8k for a good one.

Well i got a roller in pretty good condition for a bout 3000. but it did need a lil work but you can get on on here for about 6- 8 in excellent condition and a mother on line with tranny for about 2500 so 10 or 11'000 and a lil work save about 8000

With money, anything is possible.
We have told you that it will be tons of work, even more money, and the results would more than likely be very disappointing, but you seem to have convinced yourself it's a good choice.
All I can say now is that if you do it, I want pics.

If you are trying to save money by starting with an FC instead of an FD, it's a false economy. The mass amount of labor needed to fit the kit onto a car it was not designed to fit will greatly exceed the cost of just buying the proper car in the first place.

The amount of work involved, and the cost would not save you any money. If anything I think it would cost you more money to use the 2nd gen as a platform.
If saving money is your primary goal, I would suggest sourcing one from Japan that you can then modify to your preference. Locally a RHD with Fortune kit affixed was selling for $25k that was imported in from Japan.
Being much closer then we are to Japan, this is where I would look if I was you. To build the car yourself, especially on a car not meant for it, would be at least double that price.... minimum. Good luck with what ever way you go, and do post pics!

not to be rude but it kind of reminds me of people putting $2000 wheels on a $500 car. I don't really understand the thinking.
I could see spending $15k on a body kit for a show car but if $20k for an FD is too much for you I'm not sure I understand. Is your FC your DD?
