porting
My name is Jeff Owens. Has anyone ever joined the fourth and sixth port into one, and if so how did it turn out. Im thinking of doing it to mine and also bridging them with a full race exhaust port. and approximentlly how much hourse power would it gain? I have the raceing beat 6 port holimantifold that i will probablly inlarge the port runners. any feedback will be appriciated, and yes im a little crazy.

welcome to the board.
for myself, i've never built one, and i really don't foresee myself building one for me. come to think of it, i'm not entirely sure i'd build one for someone else either. sometime back in the mid-90s, a friend of mine had a Gen II with one of these siamese-port engines - with a port-matched Holley. i was helping him tune it. that thing ran like a bat outta HELL!
that said, i wouldn't advise it, and i damn sure wouldn't advise doing it with a bridge. would it work? yeah, i'm sure it would (just be careful with the bridge), but i tend to think you'd enjoy the car more with a nice streetport.

If you port like that, you'll have an engine that makes peak power somewhere around 10,000 RPM and has almost nothing below 5000 RPM. You'll also need a custom intake manifold to make these ports work, and a standalone to control it all. A full race exhaust is also so loud that it is not allowed at most tracks, let alone on the street.
