j port is not feasible for a motor that you want to last more than 1000 miles or so because it cuts in to the water neck

and p ports are very expensive (over $2000 per housing)

^^^^ HAHAHAHAHAH

400hp with a bridgeport and stock FC turbo and IC

That was a good one, that turbo would run out of breath at about 5K if not sooner, and that IC will be way to small.

to make 400hp is easy

Big Streetport or Half-Bridge
GT-35 or similiar running (16psi for SP, 11psi for HB)
Front Mount IC
550cc Primary and 1600cc Secondaries
Aftermarket ECU (Power FC is plug and play with the adapter)

for CHEAP power, a bridgeported 13B is your best bet with the mods mentioned above ^

street, bridge or half-bridge will get you where you want to be, but (not to undercut what has already been said and suggested) you'd be doing yourself a favor if you provided some sort of intent - meaning what is the purpose of this 400 HP car you're "dreaming" of? the specifics of your use will dicatate the actual parts you'll need.

Go Street

I run 380 FWHP on a street port. I do have BNR twins, widened down pipe and a host of other mods however!

Very Very True

Just like building a computer, you need to know what it is going to be used for before you buy the parts.

Looks like to me bridgeport could be the way to go. With a bridgeported motor, about what horse would the stock twins max out?

^^^

A Street port is all you will be able to run with the stock twins, a BP will need ALOT more air then the twins can push

I got to 320 bhp on my stock twins (you may do a bit better). BNR twins should be good for 400BHP. More than that and single is your route.

If you want soild 300Hp just do a full bridge without a turbo. Then a 50 shot of Nitrous

So if you wanted to go bridgeport and a single turbo, the correct route would be get the turbo kit ready to install and then get the bridgeport. (instead of doing a bridgeport and runnin off the stock twins while you wait to get the cash together for a single.)

If you buy the Mazda MFR housings or get them from Mazdatrix, thats true. However it costs about $150-$200 to a machine shop to peripheral port a non-peripheral housing.

how long it lasts or how long it takes to port an engine?

longevity is totally up to build quality and owner use/maintenance.

if i have all of my materials and my housings have all been cleaned, then i can usually do all 5 housings in a day - maybe leave polishing the exhausts for another day, but your intakes can all be completed in a day's work. however, the whole process from teardown to assembly is much longer - at least, it is for me.
