please help starting problem!!

i have a 88 gxl it was running fine the other day till i was messing with my sub wire which sparked and melted so i figured right off the bat i fryed somthing but the car started right up fine after that but yesterday morning i came outsideto start it and its trying to start but it wont turn over and if it matters it sounds like its firing faster then usssual too somone please help me this is my car i drive to work everyday i need to fix it fasssssst thank u

which wire did you tap into and short out?

Check the 15 amp Engine fuse (interior fuse box), the EGI COMP fuse and the EGI Injector fuse (Engine fuse box).

Check all the fuses, also check to see if it is just flooded and not even related to you shorting something out the other day.
