New here and hope to be a new fd owner-advice!!!

OK, found a FD . Was going to trade my ls6 240sx for it. Ill try and post up some links BUt its a 1994 with 70k on it with a 99 jdm with about 30k supposedly. Everything is real nice with the car but only porblem is when you apply pressure to the brake or brake to stop, there is a slight clunk in the rear....heard its commen and its just the bushing and maybe the diff....this is a pretty go deal so i want to get it anyways.....Any advise when i go check it out....Again, something to look for...? I would appreciated it.....

ps, going to check it out and probably buy it tomorrow so please, reply fast

Wow, that engine bay is *really* stock. Compression test, boost pattern, and coolant seals are my personal major concerns. Clunks and stuff in back usually come from a bad diff mount, powerplant frame, pillowball bushing, or suspension bushing. Less commonly from loose fuel tank internal baffles, exhaust banging against the frame, or a loose spare tire jack.

At 70k, you should expect to replace most of the mounts and bushings anyway.

Did you end up buying it?

Nope, Dude is so shady and engine started burning oil and smoking. And he still was like, im not going lower on price lol I said, dude its smoking and could be a major problem. And had literally about 12oz of oil spread though the under part of the undercarriage where the engine crossover sits....So everyone watch out. This Guy` mark` bought it about a month ago from a guy named david. I was going to try and trade my old car for it when david had it.....The new owner mark said hes had it for years and needs to clean out his garage... Just sayin. Look out.

Man that's sad to hear, it looked pretty clean from the pictures. Good luck with your hunt for an fd. I'm hoping I'll be on the hunt soon.

Ehhh, they're all worth buying....even a roller with no engine. Just not anywhere near the price the sellers are asking.

To the OP and evileclipse909....dgeesaman and others have some great reading in the 3rd Gen section FAQ sticky. If you haven't already, give it a look before going to see another FD. Scroll down to 'B' for buying.
