Please help!!!!!! Car doesn't start

Just put in a new motor that had been rebuilt 20k miles ago, compression is great, but the motor doesn't fire up, turns over like it was flooded but still doesn't fire after going through the unflooding procedures. Is there anybody out there whose had the same issues? Could the timing be causing it to do that? Please help I really don't wanna pay the mazda dealership 125.00 dollars just to look at it if it's something I can do myself. Any sugestions would be great!!

Is there any way to check the spark with out an ohmeter? Sorry if that's a dumb question I'm a noob to the car scene. And I didn't know if it was flooded or not but I thought i'd check since my last motor would flood all the time and it would do the same thing crank over but not start

man, sounds like my case... I tracked it down to a 'no lead coil spark' issue and i'll have to track the wiring harness for pack rat damage...

So, are you getting fuel? Are the fuel lines on the correct way? Injectors plugged in correctly?

Have you checked for spark? Pull a leading plug wire, put it on a spare plug, place the plug on the shock tower so you can see it and crank the car. Spark?

What basic checks have you done and how did you check them?

Was this car sitting for a long time?

How do you know your getting fuel or getting flooded do you smell fuel?

What procedure are you using to unflood it the pulling the engine bay green fuse turning it over and replacing it?

Could this be a hot start problem I had a very similar problem like this long time a go engine had alot more miles on it though?

There is no coil pack ground other then the body of the ignitor. If it is bolted to the car, it is grounded.

So you are sure you are getting fuel into the engine?

When you crank the engine, can you hear the injectors clicking?

Is the CAS stabbed in the correct position?

Are you ABSOLUTELY SURE the fuel lines are not backwards? The line from the filter should go to the pulsation damper, the line from the pressure regulator should return back to the tank.

Do you have any larger air leaks?

AFM plugged in?

You would think that if they told you there was no spark they would know why if they looked it over. There could be any number of reasons you have no spark. Bad coil packs? Bad wires? Battery? Is the engine start fuse in the fuse box in the engine bay? I am sure there may be other reasons I can't think of atm ANYONE ELSE?

How much did you pay for them to replace the MAF sensor?
