Opinions on options
I've had a few cars in my life but with a layoff of 7 years due to my young kids i am looking for my next project. I have fell in love with the rx7 but i really like the engine. I am kicking around a couple of different project ideas and wanted to get an opinion on what more experienced rotary owners think.
take on either a fd or fc. love the fd really.
mgb or triumph 13b swap. or a 240z with a 13b.
i know it is a personal preference but I like all the cars and i am just looking at the initial base price of the car and will go from there. That puts the fd at a disadvantage because if figure 20k for the car then from reading the forum it will be more plus paint ect...
I am looking to do track days and a little 1/4 from time to time with my set up. I live in the Ozarks so getting down on the back roads will be my most sought after goal.
This will be my first import dive, in the past i have had camaros and corvettes.

interesting, I've thought about it but the lines on a miata never really appealed to me. i have been beat at more than 1 scca event by them and I know they are a great platform.

I can't argue with that. It took a year or two for the NC to grow on me. I thought it was ugly when I first bought it, but the price was right and I wanted something to learn stick on.
They are also indestructible. Someone in a land yacht played pinball with my NC on the highway. I won't bore anyone with the details, but 4+ hits at highway speeds and we still walked away without a scratch.

What kind of project do you want to take on? If it's an uncommon swap it'll be different from a restoration on something like an FD or FC. If you have the time, the swap sounds kind of fun but FD's are just so nice stock if you have the funds for one .
