omp lines
So I have officially looked everywhere for answers and I've had dreadfull luck. If you think it's easy to find, call me an idiot, tell me where, and move along. I just for the life of me can't find anything.
I need to replace the omp lines as one of them has snapped and the other looks in rough shape. Where can I find them? I found a write-up about it in the archives, but that was for a 2nd gen which is a totally different system all-together. Should I just premix in the mean-time? |
Cheap DIY -> Racer X-8's DIY Rebuilding the MOP Lines
Super nice and durable -> Karack's Stainless Steel MOP Lines OEM replacement -> Mazda Trix: Oil Injection Parts You can premix pretty easily if you have a series four MOP. (Mechanical MOP.) - It is doable with the S5 MOP, as long as you have a standalone EMS. Unplugging the S5 electric MOP will put the stock ECU into 'limp mode'. This is a pretty insightful premix thread. -> https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...ight=Premixing From what I've read... - Use TCW-3 two stroke oil. (Synthetic two stroke costs more.) - Anywhere from 0.5oz to 1oz oil, per gallon of gas. - Add the oil first. Then pump gas. |
i'm all out of fittings, so if you want a set made i would need the old metal ends off the original lines.

Oops, I'm so very sorry. I forgot to write that I had a 1st gen GSL. (which is why I couldn't use the write-up from the archives which was about 2nd gens) Luckily, Lawless1 put up a thread about these lines at just about the same time I was trying to and someone mentioned atkins rotary sold them for $33 and some change.
Until then, yeah, I'm definitely going premix until I get it all settled and ship-shape and even for a bit longer just to be safe. (It apparently takes a long time for the lines to fill with oil to the carburetor) Thanks guys! |
even after you change the lines you have to premix for about 2 full tanks of fuel.
no one mentions this, because it's easy to forget it take several weeks and hundred of miles for the lines to prime. |
^ Great information. I didn't know that...

Holy cow, thanks! I had no idea, why isn't this info more readily available?? I've done more research on rotarys in the last 4 months than i could compare to anything and this has never came up... |
^ We just need to spread the word from now on.
