It usually a waste of time to remove it. Some people get mod happy and remove all kinds of stuff in an effort to "clean up" or "simplify" or some other such nonsense. The OMP injects a variable amount of oil into the compression chamber to lubricate the apex seals. The amount injected varies according to load and other factors.

When the OMP is removed, you now need to pre-mix. So whenever you get gas, you need to figure out how much gas you are going to add and then add 1 oz or so of pre-mix oil for each gallon of gas you intend to add to the car.

If you don't pre-mix, the engine will seize (blow) eventually. That is why the ECU goes into limp mode when there is an OMP failure.

Search the 3rd gen section for other threads on the topic.

Yes you can delete it but you can't do this with the stock ECU and you can't forget to add premix to your fuel.

I wouldn't get into all of that until it goes bad or something. If you like the idea of premix you can do it in addition to the OMP.
