I've read what you typed 3 times and can't make any sense of it. Please, when you post, make an effort to use some kind of recognizable sentence structure with some basic punctuation.

Also include the year and model of you car, because RX-7s were made from 1978 until 2004.

I'm going to guess you have a 2nd gen. I'm also going to guess that what you are trying to say is that when you attempted to shift and pressed the clutch, the engine revved high and stuck there. Then the car would not start.

Check the throttle cable to make sure it is not stuck.

Yeah sorry about the way i type I've just beenreally stressed about the car.

yes the car is a second gen. it's an 88 fc

so yeah i checked the throttle cable and that isn't it

i've also checked the fuel pump, the fuel filter, all the fuel lines, the injectors, the fuel rail, both the coils, and the spark plug wires.

what else do i need to look for.

So you went to shift and more or less the clutch stuck and the rpms stayed high? Or am I off.

And you are absolutely sure the throttle cable is not stuck?

Check all the throttle linkages around the throttle body to make sure they move freely. Check for any hoses that have popped off of the intake manifold.

I wouldn't assume it is the CAS based on the symptoms. They scream "VACUUM LEAK!".

No harm in checking though. Procedures are in the FSM.

You are going to have to be a LOT more specific and a LOT more coherent to get meaningful answers to your questions.

I don't know what a fuel filter on a crotch rocket looks like.

Post a picture, or look it up in the FSM. You may be referring to the pulsation damper on the rear of the primary fuel rail. If so, it is a common leak and you need to FIX IT NOW before the car burns.

ok scratch all of that i'll fix that later.

i got it to turn over and start but itwas running in sort gasps,

and i had to keep my foot on the throttle so that it would stay running,

smoke was also pouring out of the exaust really bad,

so those are the symptoms if someone could tell me if my engine is blown or wat i should do it would be appriciated.

Check to make sure the cruise control cable isn't stuck. One time in my FC the engine went to WOT all of the sudden and I had to short shift and ride the brakes until I could park. It was just that the cruise control cable had come out of its guide and was pulling the throttle open.

The Factory Service Manual can be found in the FAQ For FC thread. It contains all this information and more, and is an essential tool for any sort of service work that needs to be performed on these cars.

Additionally, the Haynes service manual for the 1986 thru 1991 RX-7 (both turbo and NA) can be found at most local auto parts stores or purchased from any good bookstore (ISBN number 1 56392 007 7). It is only about $25 and is a great quick reference for things like this. Not only does it contain most of the information in the FSM condensed into an easy to read format, but it includes full wiring diagrams as well.

These manuals will answer 99% of service related questions for the car and if you intend to do your own repair work, you will need at least one of them. Preferably both, since the FSM is a free download.

ok i dont know all of the parts so this is going to sound dumb to alot of people,

but the problem was the pickup sensor in the distributor, one of the magnet things was't letting the rod spin, so i just replaced it and it ran but wouldn't idle, then i found the vacuum leak and now it runs great.
