Unhappy oil in rear rotor on startup

I have recently purchased a 1991 RX7 non-turbo 13b 72,000 miles. When I start It up in the morning, sometimes, it is very hard to start. The rotor nearest the firewall seems to be flooded with oil. I pulled both trailing spark plugs and the front rotor plug was clean, the back one covered in oil. It does this about 50% of the cold starts. Emits clouds of blue smoke. Once I get it started, it runs perfect. The check engine light does not come on. Also, I have a OBD 11 reader. Can this be used on the 1991 RX7 and if so, where do I plug it in. Any opinions or advice would be welcome. Thanks, Dave

You have bad oil control rings on the offending rotor. It seeps oil and leaks into the combustion chamber. It will seep overnight and if bad enough cause smoking on startup until the engine warms up and the seals expand. Only thing to fix it is a rebuild on your engine. Very rare on low mileage engines like yours, but possible. Mine started going bad around 130k, but still runs strong.

There is a green SINGLE plug next to your battery. Ground that and you will see the check engine light flash. If you are familiar with reading "FLASH" codes, its the same concept. There is no OBD port on the rx7 that i know of, but there is a MAZDA scan tool port, the BIGGER green plug next to the battery with the many pins in it.
