oil pan/front cover interchange?
I picked up a '86 6-port for my LoCost project. The chassis originally had an engine from a Miata so the mount location are already in the chassis. I want to get rid of the 'mid-mount' engine mounts on the '86 motor currently because I really don't want to make up more mounts, and I plan to modify the pan for more capacity and 'windage'. In the process of buying parts, I also got a 13b from a '76 RePU, complete with the 'full' oil pan and the front cover with mounts. After some quick measurements, the engine will line up perfectly with the current chassis mounting location if I use the front cover mounts.
While searching, I saw that the GSL oil pan and cover will work, but I am unable to confirm exactly what this engine is from. So in layman's term, will the pan and cover from a '76 RePU fit this '86 6-port? If this is not enough to answer, I can take pictures of the other pan this weekend.

You are correct about the front cover. You can use any 12A front cover, or any 13B front cover from (from memory) 74 - 85. The GSL-SE is an '85-'85 1st gen RX-7 with an EFI 13B.
You don't need the SE oil pan if you have the REPU oil pan. The REPU pan is designed to fit a 13B with front cover engine mounts.
