This is only necessary if someone has removed or disabled the stock metering oil system. In a properly working stock car, this is unnecessary.
Check the side of the engine closest to the turbo/exhaust manifold. Mounted low on the front cover is a small pump made by Mikuni with 4 lines exiting and heading up towards the intake manifold. If that pump and the lines are in place, odds are the system is functional and you don't need to premix.

i do a half ounce of redline two stroke racing oil per gallon, good pre-cautionary measure because relying on an OMP 25-30 years old isn't the best idea. mmo works well, too each guy has his fave, redline is mine.

I just put it in first and then allow the filling of the fuel to mix it. Some people do half and then premix. I highly doubt it matters in any meaningful way.
nor does measuring exactly how much premix to put in, like some people do. i know a guy who is really serious about putting the exactly amount in....
First off, my first post in here. I just bought a 1990 RX-7 today and am excited to learn all about it. My seller told me the same thing, but he said he never mixed any in himself. can someone find or post a picture of the OMP in the engine bay? i googled it, but couldnt find a definitive photo identifying it. or i can post a pic of my engine bay in the morning when its light out and maybe one of you can tell me if I have one. thanks
welcome zracin, any way it really not much to explain i had a N/A not sure if you do too but if it is it should be located in the lower part of the engine if you have a fan shroud this maybe a little difficult to see but its down on the left hand side and 4 lines should be coming out of it
when sitting in the car the metering pump will be lower rigth hand front ..near pan but on front cover..will have 4 clear plastic tubes heading towards the intake..
if u satnd in front car and see your distributor..then look on other side of that and lower down towards pan you will see it...
