oil leak/seatbelts
i have a 1990 gxl, the guy i got it from always had a shop do anything and he was not mecanicaly inclined AT-ALL. when i got it he said he was told by mechanics it will need an engine rebuild within a year (the car has 85xxx miles).
no leaks when i got it but 2 months in it leaks a little oil from the right rear of the engine, if it was some kinda oil seal that was bad, would it start to leak from the rear after driving a month or so?
also, will mazda still perform the recall on the auto seatbelts (the guy i got it from said it was never done while he had it and the previous owner said nothing about this.)

The seatbelt recall is for the life of the vehicle.
By right, do you mean driver side? If so, then just check the are around the oil filter. The pedestal to which it mounts is sealed by two o-rings. They tend to dry out and start to leak. Not a big deal at all to fix, though access to that area is limited if you have large hands.

no sorry its on the pass. side.
but i guess it could come from there and just follow the contours of the block ect. before dripping off at the lowest point.
