oil leak

Hey everyone, I have an 86 FC and its got an oil leak somewhere. it was idaling yesturday and when i backed up, there laid a huge pile of oil. i looked nder the hood but couldnt see anything, then i looked under the car and on the right front of the motor is where all this oil is coming from. Any help with this will be much apreciated.

Probably an oil cooler or oil cooler line leak.

I would suggest getting the car on jack stands or something of the sort and thoroughly inspecting underneath the car. Sounds like oil cooler lines to me as mentioned above.

right front would be omp. possibly the lines that connect to it r leaking. u could take it to a shop and tell them u have an oil leak and u need to get it up and see where it's coming from. that's a really good way to get the car up in the air to check it out. there shouldn't be a charge for that and u don't have to give in to their offer to make repairs.

all cars have a right and a left. when someone tells u they have a right hand drive car, what side is the steering wheel on? the right side of the car.

Unless they're looking from the front of the engine bay and are calling the driver's side "right". Either way, the OP has to jack the car up, take a few things apart and trace the leak.

yes i know but that was my reasoning to cone crushr as to the which is right and which is left delimma.

ok ur lookin from the front of the car. its comin from where the a/c is at. in that general area. its either the oil filter or lines you guys mentioned

Yup, sounds like oil lines. BTW that is typically called the left hand side of the vehicle.

cars are like people,they have the Front,and rear.Left(drivers side for US ) and right,
always look at the location of things Like you ARE the Car..or Inside it.
