Is this o2 sensor good or bad?

I'm doing a DP install and when I pulled the o2 sensor from my old pipe it looked like this...

I have not dealt with too many o2 sensors, but judging by the way it looks I'm guessing I should replace it... Does anyone know how to determine if they are bad? I would prefer not buying a new one just because, if possible...

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to help!

Dan

Download the appropriate factory service manual from the site below. There are detailed instructions for testing the O2 sensor in the Fuel and Emission Control section.

Test it per the FSM, as mentioned. There will always be deposits on an 02 sensor, so looking at it won't tell you much.

I would just replace it while you are there. A Bosch replacement shouldn't be more than $30.

Another possibility is going wide band if it is a reasonable option.
