Noob question for some long time rx7 owners???
HI, I'm only a 1 year owner of my FD and I'm trying to piece together some history on my car.
I have a "stage 1 Gothamracing streetported engine" in it. Unfortunately I found out that Gothamracing shut down sometime around 2009.
My question is: What was standard with a Gothamracing streetported stage 1 build?
Specifically, did they use oem apex seals or something better?
Thanks so much, Aaron

Educated guess:
* I suspect that "streetported" mainly refers to just that...a street port of the exhaust and intake.
* Stage 1 would indicate that you're still running the stock twins and the rebuild was relatively 'mild', with few modifications. Which to me would also indicate the stock two piece OEM seals. But before you get too disappointed, IMO there's nothing better than OEM hard seals for a stock to mildly modified engine. There was a great deal of engineering/metallurgy that went into them. They seal well, wear well, and just as importantly they're easy on housings. Aftermarket seals have their place in specific applications for specific engines. But nothing better than OEM in most cases.
Not certain of the connection, but you might try sending a PM to Goodfella.https://www.rx7club.com/members/goodfellafd3s-1650/
I believe he had a business interest in Gotham back in the day. He and Ihor now have a pretty well known shop in your neck of the woods http://www.irperformance.com/
