non-starting issues
I am having a problem with getting the car to start. it's an '85 automatic, 12a engine; no mods. I did just replace the front seal on the trans. it did start before, so this is new and may be my fscrewup. when I turn the key it will sometimes click, usually not. seems like a low battery but I can read 11.3 volts at the battery terminals, also read voltage at the solenoid's positive terminal. can the battery be weak and register this voltage? another problem I have which might be connected, the trans will can be shifted out of park even without the key turned on, much less running, what the heck did i screw up there? long post, just trying to be thorough
oh yeah, I had the starter tested and it was fine

11.3 v at the battery terminals is low. 12.5v on a flooded lead acid battery is full, 10.5 v is dead as a doornail. Maybe it needs a charge, maybe it's a gonner. Also check the battery cables, they may need replacing.
Can't help with the rest though
