NY gas tank

The fuel in my FB doesn't flow out to the fuel pump steadily sometime. It's like theres a lack of pressure inside the gas tank. The fuel pump has been replaced and i can hear it on but sometimes the fuel just stops running to it so then i have to get out the car and blow in to my fuel valve on the side to build up pressure in the take, then i put the cap back on and it works fine. This usually happens about once ever 2 weeks. Are there vacuum lines that are leaking air pressure? should i just cap them off or do they have to be connected to something?

first off, i don't know **** about 1st gens, but i'm not real familiar with any car that needs the tank pressurized (usually they release built up pressure) you said that you replaced the fuel pump, but how is the fuel filter? is there a fuel sock in the tank like 2nd gens?

just some ideas, i'm sure an expert will come along and provide actual answers later on.

Correct. The only pressure issues related to the gas tank is if it can't vent itself and builds up a vacuum in the tank.

Change out the fuel filter first thing if you haven't already. Then if you are still having problems you may have to drop the tank and get it cleaned. It sounds like you could be sucking some debris up against the sock filter inside the tank, causing random fuel starvation.

Good luck.
