ID No power to my dash.

Hi, driving home last night, and my dash lights and gauges went dead.
86 RX7 GXL.
Car had no issues at all running - no changes.
I do have a separate switch and button ignition on the car that circumvents the key start switch - not sure if that matters.
I checked the 15A illumination fuse -still good.
From doing a bit of research, it looks like the main dash harness may go to the 80A fuse in the engine bay- checked and looked good.
I have pulled out the instrument panel, but not sure where to go from there. I was looking for anything that might have come loose - disconnected and reconnected what I could, but no change - still a dead dashboard.

Any assist would be highly appreciated - Thanks

Before you go replacing parts and chasing anything else. Verify your grounding.....

There is more after this if it doesn't work. This is a must do for used cars.

Good info!

I have 2 major grounds installed on my car - but you never know.
I heard of a quick test that you just use a battery charging ground cable hooked up as needed to ensure a strong ground on the car.
No matter what though, this is great information.
I never knew about the ground block at the back of the shock tower - that will specifically effect the dash - that will be my first stop.

Thanks for the info.
