No Power

as soon as check engine light comes on car looses acceleration. It will only accelerate at barely a push of the pedal, but when floored it wants to stall and hesitate. Could this be the fuel pressure regulator? I don't get a code for the pump and it has a new fuel filter. When idling runs fine.

Check engine light coming on is putting the car in limp mode. Pull the codes to see what the problem is.

Hope you're sitting down, a new MOP for the S5s is over 1300 bucks, find a working used one. When the e-mop fails, the ecu goes into limp mode as Icemark stated.

If you don't have a copy of the FSM, download one from one of these sites.

No, the ecu just responds to the bad OMP and puts the engine into limp mode.

While this was on an FD, I have seen an ECU burn up the position sensor of an OMP. So if you have a spare ECU I'd change it just to be safe.
