No oil pressure

My gauge is not moving at all when i start. (I did finally get it started and running for a little while) I think it might be the gauge itself but im not sure how to check. Any suggestions. I did search but this was the only thread i found:

https://www.rx7club.com/1st-generation-specific-1979-1985-18/oil-pressure-gauge-malfunction-816218/

It helped but im still not really sure how to check it. Should i buy a mechanical gauge to put in for the time being?

Are you talking about on the 2nd gen in your sig? That thread you linked to is in the 1st gen section. Search by thread titles in this section and the 2nd gen tech section for oil pressure sender/sensor. If your sender is dead, or disconnected you won't get any reading. There is also a procedure in the FSM that explains the resistance scale the gauge uses, which can be adapted to test the gauge. 3 resistors of the listed resistance can be purchased, and then attached to the wire that normally goes to the sender. When grounded, the needle should point to the specified pressure values.
